Fault Lines

I created these crystals from the excess liquid collected from a pork shoulder, filtered and dried on a glass slide. The myoglobin protein gracefully crashed out of solution, forming veinlike strands that enveloped a loose fiber as they extended. Creative use of polarization added the colors.
